Governor Makinde to Lead Keynote Address at International Tourism Summit as Oyo Prepares to Receive Thousands of Local & Foreign Investors
Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, is set to lead the keynote address at the 2026 International Tourism Summit Oyo State, where he will speak on the theme: Continuity and Institutionalisation.
The summit, scheduled to hold from May 12 to May 14, 2026, comes as Ibadan prepares to receive thousands of local and foreign tourism investors expected to converge on Oyo State for discussions on tourism development, investment opportunities, and economic partnerships.
Organisers say the event will attract a large turnout of investors, development partners, policymakers, and cultural stakeholders from within and outside Nigeria, positioning Oyo State as a key hub for international tourism and investment engagement during the summit period.
Governor Makinde’s keynote address is expected to emphasize the importance of institutional continuity in governance, particularly in sustaining development policies and ensuring long-term economic stability beyond political transitions.
The summit will feature panel discussions, exhibitions, and networking sessions aimed at unlocking new opportunities across the tourism value chain, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the event will further strengthen Oyo State’s profile as a growing destination for cultural heritage and investment-driven tourism in West Africa.
