Zamfara Governor, Dauda Lawal asks appointees seeking elective positions to resign before March 31
Dauda Lawal, governor of Zamfara state, has directed political appointees who wish to contest elective positions in the 2027 general election to resign by March 31.
A statement by Sulaiman Bala Idris, the governor’s spokesperson, said Lawal issued the directive on Monday during the state executive council meeting at the government house in Gusau.
Dauda lawal said that the directive aligned with the Electoral Act, which was signed into law by the president, and the Independent National Electoral Commission’s timetable for the 2027 elections.
