‎Ibadan Residents Decry Epileptic Power Supply, IBEDC Cites Generation Constraints

‎Residents in several parts of Ibadan have continued to express frustration over the persistent poor electricity supply affecting many communities across the city.

‎Many households and small business owners say the unstable power situation has significantly increased their cost of living, as they now rely heavily on generators and other alternative energy sources to meet their daily needs.

‎Some residents who spoke with Ilaji FM News noted that the situation has negatively affected their productivity and income, particularly for those whose businesses depend largely on electricity.

‎Meanwhile, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), through its Senior Communications Officer, Frank Aina Williams, has acknowledged the complaints.

‎He attributed the poor power supply to technical challenges and constraints in power allocation caused by low electricity generation nationwide.

‎Williams appealed to residents to remain patient, noting that engagements with relevant stakeholders are ongoing to improve electricity distribution and restore more consistent power supply to communities within the IBEDC coverage area.

‎Residents, however, stressed that improved electricity supply remains essential for sustaining businesses, supporting livelihoods, and easing the rising cost of living.
