Senate Begins Ministerial Screening of Taiwo Oyedele

The Senate has commenced the screening of Taiwo Oyedele following his nomination as Minister of State for Finance.

The screening began after a motion moved by Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate Leader, requesting that the nominee be admitted into the chamber.

Oyedele was escorted into the Senate by Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Senate Matters.

The nominee entered the chamber at approximately 2:21 p.m., accompanied by several government officials.

Among those present with him were Kayode Ajulo, the Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, and Tokunbo Kayode, a former Minister of Defence.

The Senate is expected to question the nominee on his qualifications, policy perspectives, and readiness to serve in the finance ministry before making a final decision on his confirmation.
