Oyo Government Trains 116 Officers to Strengthen Transparency in 50% Tractorisation Subsidy Programme
The Oyo State Government has trained 116 Extension Agents and Monitoring Officers on the newly improved mapping application deployed under the State’s 50 percent Tractorisation Subsidy Programme.
The initiative is part of efforts to strengthen agricultural service delivery and promote transparency in the implementation of government interventions.
Declaring the training open, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye, said agriculture remains a key pillar in the economic development agenda of Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde.
He noted that the administration is committed to boosting food production while ensuring efficiency, transparency and accountability in the implementation of agricultural programmes across the state.
According to the Commissioner, the upgraded mapping application marks a major milestone in the Tractorisation Subsidy Programme.
He explained that the digital platform will enable accurate geo-referencing of farm locations and sizes, eliminate duplication, ensure fair allocation of subsidised services, strengthen monitoring and evaluation, and provide real-time data to support planning and policy decisions.
Barrister Olaleye added that the innovation will further enhance transparency and accountability in the programme’s implementation. He urged participants to take the training seriously, noting that Extension Agents and Monitoring Officers are the backbone of agricultural service delivery in the state.
