‎Oyo Government Explains Shift from Thursday Sanitation to Daily Cleanliness Drive

‎The Oyo State Government has clarified its decision to play down the traditional Thursday environmental sanitation exercise, stating that the move is aimed at promoting a culture of daily cleanliness across the state.

‎The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Ademola Aderinto, said the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde is focused on entrenching sustainable environmental practices rather than limiting sanitation efforts to a specific day of the week.

‎According to the commissioner, the government believes that environmental responsibility should not be restricted to Thursdays alone but should become a consistent lifestyle embraced by all residents.

‎He added that the state government is set to strengthen its environmental policies and enforcement mechanisms to ensure compliance and improve sanitation standards across Oyo State.

‎Aderinto assured residents that the government would intensify efforts in waste management and environmental activities, emphasising that the renewed approach would deliver lasting results and further enhance public health and environmental sustainability in the state.
