Oyo Police Command Decorates 691 Newly Promoted Officers in Ibadan
The Oyo State Police Command on Tuesday decorated 691 newly promoted officers across various ranks in the state.
The brief ceremony was held at the main hall of the Command Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, and was presided over by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna.
Speaking through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, CP Haruna said the officers were promoted from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police, alongside other advancements within the Force.
He explained that the promotions and decorations were carried out on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who places high priority on the welfare and career progression of personnel.
While congratulating the officers, the Commissioner charged them to see their new ranks as a call to greater responsibility and to rededicate themselves to serving Nigeria, its citizens, and the Nigeria Police Force with integrity and professionalism.
In their separate remarks, the newly promoted officers expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, and the Force for what they described as a well-deserved and timely promotion.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to the service of the nation and its people.
The event was attended by former Commissioners of Police, Area Commanders, family members of the decorated officers, and other well-wishers.
