Check Payments: OYSHIA to Deduct 7.5% Health Insurance From Civil Servants’ Salaries Starting March 1
The Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA) has announced that it will commence a 7.5 percent salary deduction from civil servants beginning March 1, 2026, as part of efforts to provide structured health insurance coverage for public workers.
In a detailed breakdown released by the agency, it outlined the exact deduction ranges applicable across grade levels, providing clarity on what the 7.5 percent contribution translates to in naira terms.
According to the published deduction structure, civil servants on Grade Level 1 will contribute between ₦3,404.36 and ₦3,763.06 monthly, while those on Grade Level 17 will contribute between ₦11,449.00 and ₦11,867.57.
The breakdown covers Grade Levels 1 through 17, with deductions increasing progressively based on salary grade.

OYSHIA emphasized that the contribution covers six persons, not just one individual, significantly expanding the scope of healthcare access for each enrolled civil servant’s household.
The agency noted that the Enrollment is to be completed via the official portal: oyshia.oy.gov.ng.
Addressing concerns that have circulated regarding the policy, the agency framed the announcement as a transparency effort.
“What does 7.5% actually look like?” the agency posed in its communication.
“We’ve broken it down by grade level, from the lowest to the highest, so every civil servant can see exactly what applies to them.
