‎City Boy Movement: Campaign Buses Roll Into South-East as Obi Cubana, Chief Priest, Zenco Back Tinubu’s Re-election

‎A fleet of branded campaign buses has been shipped into the South-East as prominent businessmen and social figures step up visible support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎The buses, unveiled under the banner of the City Boy Movement, signal an early and organized push to consolidate backing for the President in a region traditionally seen as politically competitive.

‎The arrival and display of the buses formed the centrepiece of late-night strategy meetings attended by key figures including Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana; Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest; and businessman Zenco.

‎The vehicles, wrapped in campaign branding and messages aligned with President Tinubu’s re-election prospects, are expected to be deployed for grassroots mobilization and outreach activities across states in the zone.

‎Supporters described the shipment as a logistical boost designed to strengthen visibility and coordination for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-East.

‎Organizers say the buses will move across major cities and rural communities, serving as mobile campaign platforms for town hall meetings, youth engagements and political sensitization programmes in the build-up to 2027.

‎Cubana Chief Priest, in a public statement shared on social media, said the movement was focused and determined to “deliver” for President Tinubu, insisting that political sentiments must be set aside in favour of strategic alignment.

‎He suggested that backing the President offers the South-East an opportunity to secure greater inclusion and avoid what he described as remaining “on the bench” for another four years.

‎The City Boy Movement, which has gained prominence as a pro-Tinubu youth support structure, has been expanding its organizational base nationwide.

‎The visible entry of campaign buses into the South-East marks one of its most conspicuous activities in the region so far, reflecting a deliberate effort to deepen political structures well ahead of formal campaign season.

‎The development has generated mixed reactions online, particularly among supporters of opposition figures. Some commentators questioned the shift in alignment by certain influencers who previously backed other candidates in the 2023 presidential election.

‎However, those involved in the bus rollout maintain that their decision is rooted in what they view as pragmatic political engagement and long-term regional interests.

‎With the 2027 elections still more than a year away, the shipment and deployment of campaign buses underscore the early maneuvering already underway across party lines.

‎For the City Boy Movement and its high-profile backers in the South-East, the rolling fleet represents both a symbolic and strategic statement of intent as Nigeria’s next electoral contest gradually takes shape.
