‎Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to proactive security measures with the acquisition of two advanced surveillance aircraft.

‎Governor Makinde hinted that once the  two DA 42 MNG Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance aircraft procured become fully operational, the aircraft will provide extensive aerial surveillance across Oyo’s territory and extend coverage to areas linking Oyo and Kwara states, particularly vulnerable border corridors.

‎Though owned by the Oyo State Government, the governor noted that the aircraft will enhance joint security efforts, especially in communities where criminal elements often exploit porous boundaries.

‎He added that the aircraft will significantly bolster the operations of Amotekun and other security agencies in tackling banditry, kidnapping, illegal mining, and related crimes across Oyo’s vast landmass and adjoining border areas.

‎The sophisticated aircraft bought at the cost of #7.7 billion are equipped with advanced surveillance systems capable of identifying targets from high and low altitudes, enabling real-time intelligence gathering and strikes.
