OYRTMA Attributes Surge in Traffic Congestion to Growing City, Cautions Road Users on Reckless Driving
The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) has reacted to the recent surge in traffic congestion across the state, particularly in key areas within the Ibadan metropolis.
Speaking on the development, the Chairman of OYRTMA, Major Adesagba Adekoya (Rtd.), described traffic congestion as one of the indicators of development in any growing society.
The chairman, who spoke through the agency’s General Manager, Commander Ayoade Adeoye, assured residents that OYRTMA personnel are actively working to manage traffic flow across the state.
He, however, appealed to road users to observe traffic rules and regulations, stressing the need for patience and cooperation with traffic officials.
Meanwhile, several areas in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, have continued to experience heavy traffic congestion.
Notable among them are Eleyele–Ido Road, Apete–Awotan Road, and other major routes within the metropolis.
