Maharaj Ji Speaks On Pastor G.F. David’s Allegations, Cites Encounters With Alleged Land Grabbers, Ownership Documents, Wetie Crusade Concerns
The Founder of One Love Family and Respected Spiritual Leader known Worldwide, Satguru Maharaj Ji has responded to allegations raised by Pastor G.F. David of Faith and Miracle International Church over an alleged attack at the church’s new site in Ibadan, giving his account of the development and linking it to a longstanding dispute over land ownership.
Maharaj Ji, who spoke at a press conference on Sunday, said his position was based on events surrounding the disputed property, alleged encounters with individuals he described as land grabbers, ownership documents being relied upon by parties to the dispute and concerns over the proposed “Wetie Crusade” announced by the church.
According to him, his community had been in the area since 1987 and had lived there without major problems until what he described as attempts by some individuals to take over portions of land belonging to his community.
He said the original owners of the property had been involved in transactions concerning the land and that he later became involved in managing and acquiring some of the remaining portions.
Maharaj Ji said the latest dispute began after some individuals allegedly entered the Odo-Ona portion of the property, prompting him to report the matter to relevant authorities.
He said officials of the town planning office subsequently invited the parties involved, including individuals who claimed to have acquired the disputed land from the Aladorin family.
According to him, members of the Aladorin family were contacted during the process and, as he recounted it, disassociated themselves from some of the individuals claiming ownership of the disputed portion.
Maharaj Ji further said the Anti-Land Grabbers agency later visited the property and warned those involved against returning to the area.
He said the matter had subsequently entered the legal process, adding that his legal team had taken steps to address further developments surrounding the property.
The spiritual leader also raised questions about some of the documents allegedly being relied upon in the dispute, including the land purchase agreement and other documents relating to ownership of the property.
He said the disputed documents needed to be properly examined and subjected to the appropriate legal process rather than being used as a basis for confrontation.
Maharaj Ji also spoke about what he described as an encounter involving security personnel at the disputed property.
According to him, some individuals later arrived at the location accompanied by security personnel, a development he said created tension within his community and heightened concerns over the possibility of confrontation.
He said his response to the situation should be viewed against the background of the longstanding land dispute and the steps already taken through government authorities and the courts.
Maharaj Ji also addressed the planned “Wetie Crusade” by Faith and Miracle International Church, saying his concern was linked to the historical meaning associated with the term “Wetie” during the political crisis and violence that characterised Nigeria, especially here in the southwest region in the country.
He said he did not want a situation in which a name historically associated with violence would be used in a manner capable of creating tension or fear in Ibadan, especially at a location beside his community.
The spiritual leader said he had earlier raised concerns about the proposed programme and appealed to relevant authorities to ensure that the situation did not degenerate into violence.
Maharaj Ji maintained that disputes over land should be resolved through established legal institutions, stressing that no individual or group should take the law into its own hands.
“Nobody is allowed to take law into his hands,” he said, urging all parties to allow the courts and relevant government agencies to determine the issues in contention.
He also appealed to the media to hear his side of the dispute, saying he wanted the public to understand the background to the disagreement and the position of his community.
Maharaj Ji further said he was not interested in politicising the matter, insisting that the law should apply to all parties irrespective of their status or influence.
The development followed allegations by Pastor G.F. David and the Faith and Miracle International Church concerning an alleged attack at its new site, Faith and Miracle City, located beside Guru Maharaji Village along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, opposite Odo Ona Kekere, Ibadan.
The church had alleged that armed men invaded the site on September 20, 2026, shooting at people, assaulting workers and setting some property on fire. It subsequently called on the government and security agencies to investigate the incident and protect its members and workers.
Maharaj Ji’s response places the controversy within the context of the land dispute, while also raising issues concerning the ownership documents, alleged activities of land grabbers, the presence of security personnel and the proposed “Wetie Crusade.”
He called for the matter to be handled through lawful channels, saying peace should be maintained while the relevant authorities and courts determine the issues surrounding the disputed property.
